Mumbai – Bollywood actor Dino Morea and his brother Santino Morea have been summoned by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for questioning in connection with the ₹65 crore Mithi River desilting scam. The scam, involving alleged irregularities in tenders and rental equipment, has already led to multiple arrests and the registration of a case against 13 individuals, including civic officials and contractors.
Sources within the EOW revealed that Dino Morea’s name surfaced following phone call records with Ketan Kadam, a key accused and the director of Woder India LLP. Kadam is believed to have acted as a middleman, inflating equipment rental costs while colluding with BMC officials and private contractors to manipulate tenders in their favor.
Authorities are probing whether Morea and his brother were aware of or involved in the scheme. Both appeared before investigators earlier this week and cooperated with the initial round of questioning.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also launched a parallel probe to investigate suspected money laundering linked to the case.
Despite the controversy, Dino Morea continues to maintain a public presence and is expected to appear in the upcoming film "Housefull 5", slated for release on June 6, 2025.
